34: No Electricity For a Year - Lauren Boyce
My guest today is my friend Lauren Boyce. Lauren is a Missionary and a World Traveler. She has spent 6 months living in Thailand, and she spent the last 11 months living in a cabin in North Carolina with no electricity learning Sustainable Development. She was there learning cool stuff like how to build roads and dams, welding, diesel mechanics, and all kinds of other stuff.
It's definitely not the typical stuff you would expect a Suburban White Girl to know, and that's because Lauren is far from your typical Suburban White girl. She's got all these crazy interesting skills, and she has a really interesting point of view on a lot of things people will never experience.
She just moved back to Georgia last week, so I had to have her on to talk with her about the past year. This podcast was really fun, and Lauren and I talked about traveling, effective mission work, and all kinds of other stuff.
